Adding to the information regarding the Apple’s upcoming iPhone 8, we are here bringing a really exciting yet useful news for all the Apple fans out there. You might have got the news regarding the iPhone 8’s unveiling event and its features like OLED display, dual camera setup and 4K content support in ur previous post, but the thing that you don’t know is its “Crown Jewel” – a feature allowing the iPhone 8 to unlock in a few hundred milliseconds.
iPhone 8’s ‘Face ID’ Let You Unlock Your iPhone In Milliseconds
Yeah, you have read it right! The front facing 3D sensor placed in the iPhone 8 will let the users unlock the phone within folds of a second so that they can get a quick access to their smartphone without wasting their time. The theory regarding how the sensor worked so quickly is not clear, but it is suggested that this technology in Apple’s Face ID uses infrared technology to detect a face, even at weird angles.
The source where this statement comes from used the similar language to describe the unlocking process of the iPhone 8 using its futuristic front facing 3D sensor. As the unveiling event of iPhone 8 is drawing near –the 12th of September, it’s so called “Face ID” has risen to the forefront of iPhone 8 rumors and leaks. Not only this, it is widely being believed that Apple Inc. is going to replace the upcoming iPhone 8’s Touch ID completely, in order to offer some tweaks to the Apple freaks waiting for iPhone 8 to ditch their previous phones.
This news regarding the unlocking thing of iPhone 8 originally appeared in Bloomberg as “The next iPhone will seamlessly mesh screen and charging technologies invented by others with such Apple innovations as a 3D face scanner that unlocks the phone in a few hundred milliseconds. Upgrades to core technologies aside, the new iPhone’s crown jewel will be a 3D facial scanning sensor that will unlock the device and authenticate purchases — an industry first.” Moreover, another report from Bloomberg, earlier this year explained that Apple has put speed and accuracy to its upcoming flagship at the head of its Face ID technology. Precisely, the report said, “The sensor’s speed and accuracy are focal points of the feature. It can scan a user’s face and unlock the iPhone within a few hundred milliseconds, the person said. It is designed to work even if the device is lying flat on a table, rather than just close up to the face.”
Bloomberg is not the only source that reported the same, but a recent article by The Korea Herald also described the same feature of iPhone 8 as “The new facial recognition scanner with 3-D sensors can deeply sense a user’s face in the millionths of a second.”
Besides Bloomberg and The Korea Herald, the HomePod also confirmed the same feature of expected iPhone 8 with its tweet. The source tweeted, “Face ID is quicker, more secure, and more accurate than Touch ID.”
This means, Apple is going to offer much secure and faster technology than its previous devices and you admit it or not, this feature is much needed in our fast paced world. Do you agree?
